It is June 24th, 2022, and Roe v Wade has just been overturned. Millions of children were saved from bloody deaths, from the prehistoric form of birth control that has been legal for far too long. June 24th is the day that America entered the 21st century and put away stone age barbarism. Today will be a holiday for henceforth on. A holiday in the true sense of “holy day”, for we celebrate a victory of God and His angels triumphing against Satan and his demons.
Today I went back and forth between disbelief (this is the biggest conservative victory in recent memory) and jubilance. A cigar was smoked, beers were had, Psalms rung throughout my house, and I laughed with joy.
There is not much to say, other than “Thanks be to God.” Some on the right will try and tell you this was “the elites” allowing a victory to placate the right, others will come out and say that banning abortion does not eliminate the causes of abortion and this decision will only result in state-hopping. People like this are so accustomed to losing that when victory falls in their laps, they have to find a reason why it is actually a loss or, if not a loss, a net neutral. Some of them have personal motivations for telling you this. If today’s decision was a win, then it means that political action is important and efficacious. Alito and his fellow Justices did something valuable…but what did [enter Youtuber, Telegram anon, or Substack writer] do that compares? They look small. To do something comparable would require effort they lack and skills they do not possess. These are the same people who make a considerable amount of their money espousing reasons “the elites” could not possibly “permit” a genuine conservative reaction. They might even, like Yarvin in his Gray Mirror, build their entire brand around why today’s events could not happen. Money and clout are on the line! I refuted such silly notions here, so I will not repeat myself.
The point is this: do not listen to anyone telling you the overturning of Roe v Wade is anything other than a major victory. They can wriggle around trying to protect their brand or make up for their political ineptitude all they want, but I can show you on the doll where millions of children’s lives were saved. Let me repeat that: today millions of children’s lives were saved.
I think it’s fair to say this vindicates both Trump and those who put him in office, and I as a Christian am personally grateful to the white evangelicals who flocked to the banner of a man they did not like but who they knew could deliver.
God wins
